State Bank of India continues its endeavor on Organ Donation;
Patiala, 15 October (Sky Hawk Times) Continuing its awareness campaign launched on the Bank Day to promote the altruistic cause of organ donation among its employees in collaboration with ROTTO PGIMER, State Bank of India organized an engaging awareness session for the staff members of Regional Business Office, Patiala here in the premises of RBO Patiala today. The session got an enthusiastic response with over 50 members pledging for organ donation on the spot.
Prof. AK Gupta, MS-cum- HOD, Deptt of Hospital Administration PGIMER graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Ms. Rimjhim Chhabra, Regional Manager, RBO Patiala led the initiative on behalf of the bank and presided over the event. Others present on the occasion included Mr Ramesh Kalra, AGM PGIMER Branch, Ms Saryu D Madra, Consultant (IEC& Media). Mr Milan Bagla, Consultant (Data Management) ROTTO PGIMER to mention a few.
Addressing as Chief Guest, Prof Gupta lauded SBI for their commendable initiative on Organ Donation and said, “The act of donating one’s organ during one’s lifetime is the most appreciable deed one can do. With waiting list getting longer, the gap between organ demand and availability burgeoning and helpless patients dying every day whilst waiting for a transplant, it is vital that more and more of us pledge for organ donation”.
A presentation on the initiatives being undertaken by ROTTO PGIMER to promote Organ Donation was made, followed by showcasing of a motivational documentary on the success story of a liver recipient in PGIMER which left many in the hall with moist eyes.
