P.U. to Hold National Workshop on Electrochemistry

Panjab University (PU) is hosting a National Workshop on Electrochemistry (NWEC-2016)’ on October 24 & 25 at Department of Chemistry, PU. The National Workshop is being organised by PU in association with Sinsil International Pvt Ltd, Faridabad. Around 70 delegates from different region of the country would participate in the workshop. The primary objective of NWEC-2016 is to impart sufficient knowledge on electrochemical processes to sensitize and stimulate the young minds of students, research scholars and faculties.
PU Dean Research, Prof. Praveen Rishi would be the chief guest and inaugurate the workshop. The eminent Scientists and technicians from various Universities/Institute and Sinsil International Pvt Ltd would deliver expert lecturers on electrochemical- & bio- sensing, hands-on training, practical exercises, specimen preparations, and troubleshooting on instrumentations for electrochemical analyses.
Dr. Ganga Ram Chaudhary, Convener of this workshop informed that the Workshop on Electrochemistry is being under the aegis of this UGC: INDO-US 21st Century Knowledge Initiative, which is one of the important components of their ongoing project “Indo-US Partnership on Green Chemistry/Engineering and Technologies Education, Research and Outreach for Sustainable Development”. He informed that the program of the workshop would cover a wide range of interesting objects relating to the electrochemistry aspects which are directly related to our everyday life, fulfill the society needs and make a green environment.
PU-ISSER, to organize a National Seminar on CHANGING INDIA: STATE, SOCIETY AND RELIGION on 24 -25 October 2016
Panjab University (PU) Institute of Social Science Education and Research (ISSER) would organize a National Seminar on “Changing India: State, Society And Religion” on October 24 & 25 at ICSSR Complex in sector 14 PU Campus.Eminent and widely read scholar & Professor Emeritus at Aligarh Muslim University(AMU)
Professor Irfan Habib would deliver the Keynote address. PU Vice Chancellor Professor
Arun Kumar Grover would inaugurate the seminar at 10:30 AM on October 24 at the ICSSR
Complex.
The themes to be covered in the two day seminar include the ‘Concept of Nation’;
Changing Idea of India; Limits of Secularism; Composite Culture; Developments in
Contemporary India; Ideolgy and Political Change; Nature of Indian State; Gender; and
Dalit Identities.
The seminar is in honour of the renowned historian and first Gian Ratan recipient of
the Panjab University, Professor J S Grewal, who has reached his 90th year, to mark
his outstanding contribution to historical scholarship. The prestigious seminar would
bring together a number of eminent scholars from the social sciences together on the
occasion.
