National training Programme on Materiovigilance at PGIMER
Chandigarh, 14 November : The Department of Pharmacology and Biomedical Division have started one day “National training Programme on Materiovigilance”under the supervision of Professor Bikash Medhi and Er. Sanjeev Sharma. This programme was started in 2015 after the approval of Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MoHFW), Govt. of India (GoI). Materiovigilance Programme of India (MvPI) in an effort to ensure safety of medical devices. In the inauguration programme, the following dignitaries. were present: Professor Rajesh Kumar, Dean, PGIMER; Professor Ajit Avasthi, Head, Psychiatry Department, PGIMER; Er.P.S Saini, Superintendent Hospital Engineer, PGIMER, Chandigarh;Er. Sanjeev Sharma,Hospital Engineer(Biomedical)in LT-1, Lecture Theatre Complex, Nehru Hospital, PGIMER, Chandigarh.
This time the programme will focus on the clinical and industry aspects of implementation of Materiovigilanceand will cover current issues facing in medical device use, implantable and nonimplantable medical device safety, recent regulatory changes, Materiovigilance, Current status of medical education and lots of other topics.Many eminent students, Biomedical Engineer and staff of other medical institutes from all over India are attending the programme and efforts are made to aware the personnel of different institute about the programme.
